Here's to 2024!

Wishing a happy & peaceful 2024 to all of our wonderful partners, volunteers, funders and most of all our fabulous Yoga participants. You are what makes us who we are!

Umbrella Yoga is celebrating having delivered nearly 1,200 classes in 2023! Our stellar team has worked with 25 partners, and helped more than 900 individuals to benefit from our specialised Yoga classes, tailored to suit all needs and abilities.

If you are reading this, and you know of or run a business looking to improve the wellbeing of staff then we urge you to read on! Umbrella Yoga is a small but steadily growing local Community Interest Company, which provides yoga for Communities across Kirklees, particularly those with additional needs, such as older adults, those with early onset dementia, those with learning disabilities, migrant communities and trauma survivors.

We are seeking to partner with local businesses to continue to evolve and diversify our capabilities in 2024. Whether through sponsoring a class in your area, supporting fundraising events, or through providing staff wellbeing classes for your workforce (50% of the cost of which is reinvested back into community yoga provision), Umbrella would be delighted to work with you.

Over the last 3 years Umbrella Yoga has been privileged to work with more than 55 fantastic organisations spanning the third, public and private sectors- some of whom have remained long term partners such as The Huddersfield Mission, Waves Group, and Mencap in Kirklees.

We have provided staff wellbeing sessions to businesses of all sizes, both in person and online, and helped increase staff performance and productivity as well as morale.

Our most recent partners have shared the tangible benefits to their teams in some truly illuminating feedback:

“As part of a staff training day, our team at Oldham Council enjoyed a yoga session with Ellie. The aim was to encourage members of the team to relax, to let their creativity flow and to enhance working relationships in an informal and non-hierarchical way.

Ellie was inclusive, friendly and encouraging; adapting the session so all of our varied team members could take part and enjoy it, and even creating a sense of peace and calm in a corporate training room – which is no mean feat!

Afterwards, many staff said it was the best training session they’d ever had. The session was fantastic, as well as being great value for money, and we would highly recommend it.”

“I really enjoyed the yoga session. It was a great way to relax and switch off at the end of a hectic day. It was also a good way to see people you don’t normally work with and there was a lovely calm atmosphere in the hall.” (Staff participant, Hollybank Trust)

Our call to action for businesses is to work alongside us to make our contribution to Kirklees truly sustainable, whether through booking a staff wellbeing taster session (or course), offering us venue access, sponsorship or even fundraising with us.
